How It Works

  1. Apply
    Submit your application online. Share details about your startup, your vision, and what makes you unique. Make sure to highlight how your idea is solving real-world problems.
  2. Jury Selection
    Your submitted pitch will be vetted by expert panel of Jury in two rounds to sgortlist the candidates for the final Regional round
  3. Pitch
    If shortlisted, you’ll present your idea to a panel of industry experts and investors at the FinTech Festival India 2025 Regional Competition on 9th May at IICC 3. Win The winner of the regional competition will get the opportunity to represent India at the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in Silicon Valley. Compete with the best startups from around the world and take a shot at winning the $1,000,000 investment prize.

Eligibility Criteria

Open to Startups at Any Stage

Whether you’re in the early stages of building your idea or already scaling your business, we encourage you to apply. Startups from all domains and industries are welcome.

Must Be a Registered Entity

Your startup needs to be a legal, registered entity in India. This competition is not open to individual projects or unregistered ideas.

No Funding Restrictions

There are no restrictions based on the amount of funding you’ve raised. Startups with or without prior investments are welcome to participate.

For Indian Startups

The Startup World Cup at FinTech Festival India 2025 is exclusively for startups registered and operating in India. The winner will represent the country on the global stage at the Grand Finale in Silicon Valley.

No Application Fee

There’s no cost to apply. However, optional exhibition booths are available at FinTech Festival India 2025 for startups looking to showcase their solutions/products.

How to Apply

Step 1

Register Your Startup

  • Fill out the online application form with all the required details about your startup, including your vision, team, and product/solution.
  • Ensure your startup meets the eligibility criteria outlined above.
Step 2

Submit Your Pitch Deck

  • Prepare and upload your pitch deck in the required format. (Download the Pitch Deck Template
  • Highlight your business model, market opportunity, and growth potential in the pitch deck.
Step 3

Confirm Your Participation

  • After submitting your application, post your registration status on social media.
  • Use hashtags like #StartupWorldCup and #FinTechFestivalIndia2025 and tag SWC and FFI official accounts.
  • Your registration is confirmed once your post is favorited by SWC and FFI social accounts.
Step 4

Get Ready to Pitch

  • If selected, you’ll receive an invitation to present at the Startup World Cup Regional Competition at FinTech Festival India 2025.

Judging Criteria

Startups participating in the Startup World Cup Regional Competition will be evaluated based on the following key factors:

Innovation

  • How unique and groundbreaking is your idea or solution?
  • Does your product/service offer something truly new or solve a pressing problem in a novel way?

Market Potential

  • Is there a clear demand for your solution in the market?
  • What is the size and scalability of the opportunity?

Business Model

  • Is your business model sustainable and well-defined?
  • Does it effectively outline revenue generation and profitability?

Team

  • Does your team have the right expertise and passion to execute the vision?
  • Are key roles and responsibilities clearly defined?

Traction

  • What progress has your startup made so far? (e.g., customer base, partnerships, revenue, or funding).
  • Are there any measurable outcomes that indicate your startup's potential success?

Presentation Skills

  • How effectively can you communicate your idea during the pitch?
  • Is your pitch clear, engaging, and well-structured?

Judges Panel

The jury will consist of investors, industry experts, venture capitalists, and successful entrepreneurs. These seasoned professionals will bring diverse expertise to evaluate your startup and provide valuable insights.
